progress

Progress has been unexpectedly slow these past couple of months. Making the transition to post-college life has been a lot harder than I anticipated.

I am currently making arrangements for a major promotional project to secure funding for the next two episodes of Fallen Angel. Getting the project funded means I can hire people to help and significantly increase the speed of production. More details to come.

In the meantime, here are some new comic pages...

Update fail

So I'm sure by now you're all thinking, "two posts in three 1/2 months... and this is supposed to be regular updates?"

Truth is, I was a bit over-optimistic at the beginning of the semester. As it turns out, trying to simultaneously produce a 3D animated short, write and illustrate a graphic novel, finish my last semester of college, and run a blog is a bit more than I can manage by myself.

I have less than two weeks left until graduation. Once I'm free from the demands of school, I'll have a great deal more time to manage everything. However, considering the fact that I have a long history of poorly managing my websites, I'm contemplating the idea of paying somebody to act as my webmaster and help me out with keeping my blog and website current. So one way or another, you can expect things to get a bit more lively around here in the weeks and months to come.

All that being said, here's a sample of what I've been up to over the past few months...

Here's a link to my WIP thread on the CGSociety forums, where I've been receiving some great feedback and tips while building the model.

(Note - I did not build these two car models, they are models I purchased off the web and modified to suit the requirements of my film.)

Major Announcement

After taking a brief hiatus to wrap up my fall semester of classes, I have returned with some new artwork and a big announcement about my Fallen Angel animated series.

It's official: Episodes 2 and 3 of Fallen Angel are currently in production.

Fallen Angel: Episode 2

Episode 2 is undergoing development as a comic book/graphic novel, estimated to be between 35-40 pages in length. The pages will be released online as they are completed, on my blog as well as the official Fallen Angel website. The comic book will be available for free viewing online, and once finished, a limited run of printed copies will also be available for purchase through the FA website.

Fallen Angel: Episode 3

The third episode of Fallen Angel is being produced as an animated short film. It will be my first film rendered entirely in 3D computer generated animation. The film will run five to six minutes in length and will be the most graphically rich and action-packed animation I have created so far.

Now that the word is out, from this point onward I will be providing regular updates with details of the episodes' development on this blog and the FA website. Updates will include works-in-progress, finished images and segments of animation, and details about the story and writing process.

The Fallen Angel site will also be receiving a major upgrade in the coming weeks.

Stay tuned...
